September Wrap Up and October TBR

I finished 7 books in September, and one on the 1st of October.  That's quite a lot of books for me, considering I read on average 3 or 4 books a month, so I'm excited to do a wrap up post!  Here are the books:

1.  The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski (review)
2.  We Were Liars by E. Lockhart (review and discussion)
3.  Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout (mini review)
4.  Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry (mini review)
5.  Fang Girl by Helen Keeble (review)
6.  Tiger's Curse by Colleen Houck (5 stars)
7.  Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas (4 stars)
8.  If I Stay by Gayle Forman (3 stars)

Tiger's Curse was a reread for me, so as you can tell, I am in the half of people that fell in love with this book.  Dangerous Girls messed me up, and I'm not going to do a review because I feel like reading reviews for it before ruined it a bit for me.  I was a little underwhelmed with If I Stay because of all the hype surrounding it.  I will have a mini review of it up soon.

I'm not sure how much time I'm going to have for reading this month - being that my final exams start in 27 days and I have some serious studying to do.  I find that in these kinds of situations, I either find myself reading a lot or not at all.  So, to keep up with last month, I'm going to pick 8 books and see how I go with those.

1.  Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas (reread)
2.  Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas
3.  Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas
4.  Messenger by Lois Lowry
5.  The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (reread)
6.  The Evolution of Mara Dyer (reread)
7.  Son by Lois Lowry
8.  Incarnate by Jodi Meadows (reread)

Finally I want to say a massive thanks to everyone reading this and anyone who has ever commented on one of my posts.  This is the longest I've ever stuck with a blog (4 months now) and it is undoubtedly because I have been made to feel so welcome.  I'm so happy to be part of this community and it's really made a difference in my life.  So thank you!

How was your month?

  1. I had a pretty average reading month (but will have to slow down for October is a month of final exams for me as well!) I've had the Winner's Curse on my TBR for the longest time but keep putting it off. I hope I can get to it by the end of the year though. Everyone raves on about it! I get what you mean about Dangerous Girls. That one was trippy but I loved it. I can't wait to get my hands on Dangerous Boys--hopefully it'll have the same affect on me. Good luck on your October TBR (I wish I had time for Mara rereads as well! I can't wait for November :D) I hope you have a good month and happy reading! x <3

    1. Oh good luck!
I hope you get to the Winner's Curse soon - I thought it was worth reading. Yeah! I'm waiting to read some books from another genre before getting into Dangerous Boys - I don't want to over-read mystery/thriller/suspense type books and find it boring because of that.
I can't wait for November either!
      Thank you! You too! x

  2. Meh, I didn't read as much as I'd liked. I also completely forgot to schedule a September wrap-up, but I suppose that's okay since I only had like 4 books anyway xD
I don't think it's a great idea to judge my happiness on how many books I read, but I have a problem in which I see fast readers on other blogs and feel like I'm not as good because I can't post as many reviews, haha.

Anyway, it looks like you had some great reads and also a fantastic lineup for October! :) Can't wait to hear your thoughts on those books.

    1. Well 4 books is more than I usually read - maybe you'll have a better reading month in October :)
Definitely not the best way to judge happiness :P I have this issue a lot too. I don't get how people can keep up with posting a review every other day! I don't think that defines how good you are though.

Yeah I at least liked every book I read, so that's always great. Thanks! :)

  3. Good reading month! I'm gonna read the Unbecoming of Mara Dyer this October as well and I'm so excited! Let's hope I enjoy it as much as everyone else *fingers crossed*

    1. Yeah! :)
I really hope you do enjoy it! It's one of my favourite series. I can see how it's not for everybody though.

    Happy October reading!

  5. It's so awesome that you take the time to re-read books. I want to read everything in the world right now, so I haven't re-read a book all year. But... I really want to finish what I want to read this year so I can re-read The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, and Divergent. I'll probably never get there though.

I'm really starting to consider adding the Mara Dyer books to my infinite TBR list. They seem kind of cool.

    1. Here is a secret that I didn't mention in this post: I had been in the process of rereading Tiger's Curse since before I even started this blog (which was about 4 months ago). I take a very long time to reread books and the only time I do it is if there is another book in the series coming out, or if I am waiting for a library book to arrive!
I know the feeling of wanting to read everything! It's frustrating and exciting at the same time for me. I hope you do get around to rereading those books - they're good picks!

Hmm...to be honest, I have a feeling that you may not like them (even though I did love them). Worth a try though!
