Top Ten Books I Would Love To See As Movies Or TV Shows

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted every week by The Broke And the Bookish, and this week's topic is ten books you'd like to see as movies or TV shows.  I love both these things, but sometimes the thought of a favourite book being adapted to the screen scared the hell out of me rather than makes me excited.  Especially after some movies adaptations I've seen in the last few years.  Having said that, here's some books that I think would make amazing movies or TV shows.

1.  Legend by Marie Lu
I think everyone can agree that this book would make an awesome, action-packed movie.  I think they'd have to age up the characters a bit though.

2.  Angelfall by Susan Ee
If this movie is done right, it will be amazing.  It's got everything you need.

3.  Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
I've heard people discussing the option of a TV show for The Infernal Devices, and I think it's a great idea.  It would certainly give enough time to develop the characters and the relationships between them properly, which is one of the main parts I enjoy about TID as well as any TV show.

4.  Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas
Yes?  Yes.

5.  Panic by Lauren Oliver
I almost feel like this story will translate better into a movie than the book itself.

6.  Every Breath by Ellie Marney
I think the Every trilogy would make a great TV show - can you imagine whole episodes filled with Rachel and Mycroft solving mysteries?

7.  The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
I think this book has massive movie potential!  As long as the atmosphere of it is just right, I think I will love it.

8.  172 Hours on the Moon by Johan Harstad
Though I wasn't the biggest fan of this book, I think it would make a super scary movie.

9.  Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
I'm hesitant to mention this one, because it would be so easy for a movie to ruin the magic of this series, but assuming it was done well, this book could make an entertaining movie.

10.  The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
This could be so creepy and wonderful and I really, really want it.

It's probably worth mentioning that a lot of these books are already supposed to be becoming movies!  Yay!

As usual, please let me know your top ten picks for this week!

  3. The sun summoning scenes in Shadow and Bone would be so neat to see on a big screen - such cinematic potential there, great choice!

  7. I'm dying to re-reading Dangerous Girls, it's been a while when I read it and yes, a movie would be fantastic. The only reason it didn't make my list is because I can't imagine how they could manage to make the viewer feel the same ways as one did while reading the book. But again, Gone Girl happened as well, and I loved that movie a lot. Though not as much as the book.
    Lovely list. :)

    1. I'm thinking I might have to buy it so I can reread it too! It'd be great to be able to go back and pick up all the clues, you know? I know what you mean - I did consider that, but I remember I watched a movie that was fairly similar to this book and I really enjoyed it, so I think it could work!
I still haven't watched Gone Girl, but hopefully soon.
      Thanks Veronika!

  9. I had Dangerous Girls on my list this week too! So happy to see it on a few lists this week, it's a great book and I feel like it doesn't get enoguh recognition. I think you're right, Panic would make a better movie than it is a book.

  11. I've only read Angelfall, Panic, Night Circus, Shadow & Bone, and the Infernal Devices on this list, but I can definitely see them on screen! In fact, the rights have been bought for all 5 of these, so maybe someday?
