Authors I Need To Read More From - Top Ten Tuesday

I'm participating in another Top Ten Tuesday this week!  As you most likely know, Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and every week there's another theme for a list.  This weeks theme is "Authors I've Only Read One Book From But NEED To Read More".  I'm going to attempt this list, and we'll see how far I get before I have to alter the "one book" criterion.

1.  E. Lockhart
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16143347-we-were-liars?from_search=true

I recently read We Were Liars and I really liked it.  E. Lockhart has a lot of books out, so really, there's no excuse for me not to pick up another some time soon.

For some reason this picture wouldn't link, so the title will have to take you to the Goodreads page instead.
2.  Stephanie Perkins
I read Anna in September of last year, and I enjoyed it, but at the time I really didn't see what all the fuss was about.  Since, I have come to realise that fluffy contemporaries aren't really my style.  But considering I didn't hate this book, I think I should really give Lola and the Boy Next Door a chance.  Plus, I have heard wonderful things about Cricket :P

3.  Kiersten White

I can't believe I haven't continued with this series yet!  I also have several other books by Kiersten White on my TBR on Goodreads - Mind Games, The Chaos of Stars and Illusions of Fate, for example.  I need to read more!
4.  Libba Bray
I read The Diviners last year and really loved it.  Earlier this year I tried Beauty Queens, but I just couldn't get into it, and my hold on it from the library expired, so I had to return it.  I think I might go back to that book one day, but not right now.  I think the Gemma Doyle books might be a bit more to my taste though, so I'm hoping I'll get to them soon.  Oh, and of course I am waiting impatiently for Lair of Dreams - the second book in The Diviners series.

5.  Leigh Bardugo

This is another shameful one!  I read Shadow and Bone earlier this year and was amazed by it.  Hopefully I will pick up Siege and Storm (and then Ruin and Rising) soon!
6. Victoria Schwab
And here we have yet another unfinished series, The Archived books.  This was one of my first reads this year (in saying that, it may have actually been April...), and I didn't mind it.  I loved the idea of it and Mackenzie was a cool main character.

7.  Katie McGarry

Does this really count as an unfinished series?  I'm going to say not, since I've heard the other books by Katie McGarry are more like companion novels.  Pushing the Limits really surprised me, because I wasn't expecting to like it at all.  It was also the first novel-length book that I read as an e-book, so that added to my apprehension.  I ended up giving this book a 4/5 stars, so I can't wait to get around to the next books.
8.  Julie Kagawa
I read The Iron King ages ago, and all I remember about it is not liking it as much as I was expecting to.  That said, I think I would like to give this series another try in the future, but I might check out Julie Kagawa's other series first - The Blood of Eden.

9.  Sarah Beth Durst

This was a fantastic book!  I absolutely loved it, once I got over the absurdity of it all.  I'm excited to see if Sarah Beth Durst's other books have a similar vibe to them.
10.  Holly Black
Okay, so this is kind of a cheat, since I have read all the Spiderwick Chronicles books (you can check out my review if you want), and they were wicked.  But they were all super short so I'm counting them as one book.  I really want to read The Coldest Girl in Coldtown, Tithe and White Cat because I loved Holly Black's writing and I need more of it!

So that's my top ten for today!  What are yours? :)

  1. Julie Kagawa! Yeah! I've read some of her Iron Fae books and she is a fantastic story teller. e. lockhart is another that I really need to read more of, too. I absolutely LOVED "We Were Liars." The tears... they would not stop falling down my face, lol!

    1. Oh yeah? I might have to go back and reread the first book and then see if I want to continue with that series then. Haha yeah, I tried so hard not to cry but...

  2. Oh my! You totally need to read Lola and The Boy Next Door (and yes! Cricket is the main reason for it) and The Unbound

  3. I have Leigh Bardugo on my list as well! I loved Shadow and Bone and I really need to read the rest of the series. I wasn't too impressed by Lola and the Boy Next Door, but hopefully you'll like it better than I did :) in any case, Isla and the Happily Ever After has been ordered!

    1. Yeah me too! I don't have any excuse, because I own the next two books already!
You're the first person I've seen say that about Lola. Hopefully I do enjoy it :)
I hope you like Isla! :)

    2. I'm definitely a minority when it comes to Lola, but they do exist :o) I don't know, I just couldn't really relate to her, and I'm uncomfortable with the cheating aspect that's always in the books. But they're still fluffy, and you'll love Cricket.

    3. I see :P Ah, I can see how cheating would put you off - it would/will probably put me off too. Awesome!

    1. Yeah? It really liked how the whole book wasn't just about a romance, which is the impression I got from the title and book cover lol. Now I just have to pick which one in the series I want to read next... :)

  6. I would say Katie McGarry books are a must to read, and Kiersten Whites paranormalcy series was good. The second book wasn't quite as awesome as the first, but the third one recovered the series, and I tried Mind games, and didn't particularly like it. I haven't tried any of her other ones though.

    1. Awesome! I'm glad you liked the Paranormalcy books. Yeah, I haven't heard many good things about Mind Games, but I might still give it a try :)

  7. I totally forgot about putting E. Lockhart on my list! I had so many authors that I could have added. I should have kept going. lol
