June Wrap Up

It's that time again.  It always comes around so fast!  My reading was really great at the start of the month, but towards the end I really dropped off.  I'm actually currently on camp, if this scheduling worked, so maybe I finished another book this month, but I don't think so.  Anyway, I read 7 books this month and here they are:

1.  Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver (2 stars)
2.  Revolver by Marcus Sedgwick (3 stars)
3.  The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater (5 stars)
4.  Clockwork Princess Graphic Novel by Cassandra Clare, illustrations by HyeKyung Baek (4 stars)
5.  The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan (5 stars)
6.  Grim edited by Christine Johnson (3 stars)
7.  The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black (4.5 stars)

So you can see it was a pretty mixed month, with varying ratings.  I'm hoping to have reviews out for a few of these books - I will definitely have a review for Grim coming out - so once again, I'm not going to say much else about them.  I won't be reviewing Revolver though, so I will say that I enjoyed it well enough, but I read it on audiobook and I really just don't think those are for me.  I also didn't really care for the characters.

I've also just realised I read every single book on my TBR for the month, which has never happened before!  This is an important achievement, I think.

I'm currently reading The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater and Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge as well as some review books.  Hopefully I'll finish those soon - I may already be finished The Dream Thieves, depending on how much reading I did on the bus to my camp.

This month I've been doing some other things too.  I discovered Quizup, an app/website where there are heaps and heaps of quizzes on different topics and you can go against people all around the world.  I'm the best in Young Adult Fiction in Australia this month, so that's cool :P  If you have Quizup, you should totally follow me.

I've also been watching a lot of TV.  I finished watching the final season of Smallville, and now I'm rewatching it.  I also finished Revenge.  I surprisingly loved the last episode and found myself sad that it's over now.  Having finished two shows, I decided to pick up some.  I've been really into Parks and Recreation this month - I'm on season 4 and simultaneously rewatching season 2 because that's where my brother is up to.  I also started three other shows - The 100 (which I dropped), Scandal (which I may come back to), and White Collar (which I am sticking with).

It was also my first blogoversay this month!  If you missed it, I did a post in celebration and I'm holding a giveaway there too!

Thanks for reading!  Be sure to let me know how your month was - I'll get back to you when I come home! :)

First of all, you've read & apparently hated Vanishing Girls, I was super excited for that book then no one really spoke of it at all and I haven't seen it on booktube as well so.. I dont know

It's comforting that you loved The Lightning Thief! I still haven't staretd that series hahaha, I've seen mixed reviews so I don't know. (mostly people love it)

    1. I'm glad you like it!
Well hate is a strong word, but I think yes, I was vey close to hating Vanishing Girls. I was really excited for it too, and I thought I was going to love it! Maybe that made me dislike it more... I'm sure that there will be people that have really enjoyed it though, so don't let my rating put you off too much!

You definitely need to! I can't believe I put it off for so long!

Hehehe I will for sure add you! :)

  3. I don't think I've ever read all the books on my TBR for any month :D Congrats on that! June wasn't a particularly great month for me.. I slacked off in reading quite a bit.
    Lovely post :)

    1. Haha thanks! It was certainly a surprise to realise that I had!
That's too bad, but we all have those months! I think July might be one for me actually - that's why I didn't put up a TBR.
      Thanks again!

  4. Yay to the books! I didn't like Oliver's other book, Panic, so I have no idea how I'll feel about vanishing girls. she's a hit or miss author IMO. Ooh Quizup. I used to really love it but I only played it for YA books and I've played like all the questions so it's not very fun anymore. However, in the beginning, i always had a great time!

    1. I actually was one of the seemingly few people who enjoyed Panic. But I didn't really like her Delirium books, so I know what you mean about the hit or miss thing!
I know what you mean about Quizup too - I've done about 85% of the YA book questions, and it is starting to get boring since I get so many of the same questions over and over.
