The start of July was slow for me, since I had camp for a week with barely a second to breathe, not to mention read. However, books started piling up for me from the library forcing me to read faster and the end of the month really picked up. Here's hoping that next month is more consistent!
These are the books I read:

1. The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater (4 stars)
2. Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan (3 stars, review)
3. Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan (4 stars)
4. Wonder by R.J. Palacio (5 stars)
5. Unwind by Neal Shusterman (4.5 stars, review)
6. Wildlife by Fiona Wood (3 stars)
I'm going to have reviews of Wonder and Wildlife up soon (I promise), so I won't say any more about those two. If you want to know what I thought of Unspoken and Unwind, obviously you can read my reviews. I have to say that I enjoyed the first Percy Jackson book more than Sea of Monsters, but I did still really like it and I'm hoping to read the third book soon. The books are a lot funnier than I was expecting and Percy is a great character along with Annabeth. I'm so happy to finally be reading the series. I also loved The Dream Thieves and I have to say that I am a huge fan of Ronan and not such a fan of Adam. I think I liked it marginally more than the first book, but I'm still struggling with the concept that although so much happens, nothing really happens... I have fallen in love with Maggie Stiefvater's writing though, so Blue Lily, Lily Blue is up soon for me.

Other than that, I'm expecting Uprooted and The Wrath and the Dawn from the library at some stage. After that, I think I'm going to stick with reading books that I own for a while. I'm going to buddy read Heir of Fire at some stage in the next few months too, so maybe that will happen - I don't know! I'm getting really close to my reading goal for the year too, so I'm starting to be a little more relaxed with how much I read - the only problem is that my library has decreased their lending time by a week so now I have books for three weeks instead of four :( Still, if I can keep control of how much I put on hold, that shouldn't affect me.
I'm also going to have a week off of uni soon, so that should be good for my reading, unless I get hooked on Pokemon again...
How was your month? :)
I also fell in love with Ronan after The Dream Thieves and even though I disliked Adam a bit, I'm so ready to read Blue Lily, Lily Blue and see where his character is going. Hopefully somewhere good *fingers crossed*
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to see you gave Wonder 5 stars and I'll be looking out for your review of it ^^
and the whole Percy Jackson series is fantastic, so fun and easy to read and think Percy is a very cool narrator hehehe
Yes, hopefully! I'm excited to see what comes next.
DeleteIt was sooooo good! I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't that, and I'm so glad for it. It'll probably only be a mini review.
It is very fun so far and, yeah, Percy's personality was the perfect choice :)
I want to read Wonder!
ReplyDeleteHappy August reading!
I'm happy to hear that!
DeleteYou too! :)
