Books I'm Waiting For From The Library

I didn't put a TBR in my last wrap up post, so today I'm going to share with you the books that I'm waiting for from my library.  I've put all these books on hold, and now I am in the queue for them.  I'm actually really excited about all these books, so that's good too!

1. Wonder by R.J. Palacio
2. The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh
3.  Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe
4.  Unwind by Neal Shusterman

5.  Wildlife by Fiona Wood
6.  Uprooted by Naomi Novik
7.  An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

I've had Wonder on hold for at least two months now, which is unusual for my library but as long as I get it eventually, I'll be okay.  Both The Wrath and the Dawn and An Ember in the Ashes hadn't been acquired by my library when they were released, which was killing me, especially with all the hype they were receiving (and still are receiving).  But I recently decided to see if they were listed again, and this time I was in luck!  The library still doesn't have them, but they are in the process of getting them and I was able to put them on hold.  It's the same case with Unwind and Aristotle and Dante - the library doesn't have copies yet.  There's been a lot of noise about Uprooted lately so I decided to put that on hold too.  I put Wildlife on hold on a whim, after seeing this post and knowing I don't read enough Australian YA - though I've been making an effort this year!  I'm also pretty sure that I saw Fiona Wood give a talk at a festival in Melbourne a couple years ago.

I was hoping these books would come in a staggered fashion so that I'd have enough time to read them all, but I've just checked and three of them have become available today!  Wonder, Wildlife and Unwind - I'm coming for you!

Do you place holds on books at your library?  Can you?  And of course, what's on your immediate TBR?

  1. These are SUPER exciting! I can't wait to see what you think of them :)
I've read Unwind 3 years ago & I remember that I LOVED IT! Not so sure I'll continue on with the series though, since I obviously don't remember pretty much anything about it except for the main concept of it, no details at all. I'm excited for Wonder, mainly because it's sitting on my shelves right now and I'd love to know what you thought of it!

I'm thinking of getting Aristotle and Dante, The Wrath in the Dawn & An Ember in the Ashes next actually, so if they're any good, I think they'll be worth the purchase. The hype has been REAL, so I'm guessing they'll be GOOD :)

    Happy reading♥

    1. Haha I can't wait either!
I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed Unwind; I'm very late to the party on that one.

Exactly - all those have been hyped up ridiculously, so they must be good at least in part.

      Thanks :):)

  2. Wonder Wonder Wonder Wonder hope you enjoy that one =))
The Wrath & The Dawn, Aristotle & Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, An Ember in the Ashes and Uprooted are four books I wanna read before the summer ends so fingers crossed I can make it. Sadly I can't use my library because they never have English books (so new releases are out of the question) and so I have to buy all the time LOL

    1. Me too!
I hope you get to them all so I can see what you think of them.
Ah that's too bad about your library; I can see how that would be a problem.

  3. I've heard loads of good things about Wonder, although I haven't read it myself. I know my sister read it and really liked it and my brother will be studying it next year in school, so I'm sure it's great.

Other than that I've heard loads of great things about An Ember In Ashes, Uprooted (if you like it you should check out the Temeraire series by the same author. I've read the first book and really enjoyed it, it's one of the most original fantasy books I've read) and Aristotle And Dante. I haven't read any of those three but I really want to after all the praise they've been getting. I'll be interested to hear what you think and I hope you enjoy them!

    1. That's the same with me - everyone raves about it. If your brother is studying it in school it must be good.

I hadn't heard of the Temeraire series until now, so thank you for bringing that to my attention. Thanks and I hope you get to read them too!

  4. Looks like you have some great holds from the library! I *adored* Wonder -- despite it being contemporary, there was almost a Harry-Potter-esque charm to the book. I hope you love it as much as so many of us book bloggers do ;)

I've yet to read The Wrath & The Dawn or An Ember in the Ashes, but like you, I've seen soo much hype xD both books have fabulous synopses though! Make sure to tell us what you think ;D

I haven't read much Australian YA either (the notable exception being The Book Thief but I don't know if that counts as much because it's not actually set in Australia) -- although just recently I've been listening to the audiobook of Graffiti Moon, which I believe is set in Australia because of the narrators' fantastic accents xD ah, we do love our accents in America..

    1. I'm happy you think so! Glad to hear you loved Wonder; your mention of Harry Potter has made me even more excited to read it.

Yeah they sound like they're going to be great! I sure will.

Haha but you have an excuse because you don't live here! I'd say The Book Thief does count even though it's not set in Australia. I've heard that Graffiti Moon is Australian - I hope you enjoy it so then I feel more inclined to pick it up :P
