Top Ten Quotes From Books - Top Ten Tuesday

This week's Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, is top ten inspiring quotes.  I'm not the kind of person who can spout quotes off the top of their head, but I do have a little notebook with special quotes that I've written down.  Also there was a period of time where I would go through the Goodreads quote page for every book I read and like my favourite quotes from that.  Now that I've remembered this little habit, I'm going to go catch up on the books I forgot to do...
Anyway, here's ten some quotes from books that I find inspiring!

1.  "We believe in ordinary acts of bravery, in the courage that drives one person to stand up for another.”
- Divergent by Veronica Roth

2.

3.  “If you want to know what a man’s like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.”
- Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

4.  “It’s true what they say about answers only leading to more questions.  There will always be more to find out, more to learn, more to do.”
- Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake

5.

Full quote: "Hope can be a powerful force.  Maybe there’s no actual magic in it, but when you know what you hope for most and hold it like a light within you, you can make things happen, almost like magic."

6.  “If you could predict or foresee everything that was going to happen, you’d lose the motivation to go through it all.  The promise was always in the possibility.”
- Panic by Lauren Oliver

7.  "That’s the secret to performance: conviction. The right note played tentatively still misses its mark, but play boldly and no one will question you."
- Seraphina by Rachel Hartman

8.

9.  “So, I guess we are who we are for a lot of reasons.  And maybe we’ll never know most of them.  But even if we don’t have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there.”
- The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

10.  “It be better, I think, to climb out in search of something instead of hating what you’re leaving.”
- Son by Lois Lowry

So there you go - ten of my favourite inspiring quotes.  And all I have to say about the pictures I made is:

  1. I bet if I would have done this week's TTT topic, I would have filled the entire post with millions of Harry Potter quotes.... I can't help myself LOL and also, Perks is another book filled with amazing quotes. But, the one that give me the feels is the City of Heavenly Fire one because that book was a roller-coaster and it is still very recent in my mind

    1. Trust me, I came very close to doing just that! I forced myself to stick with one quote per author. There were a lot of options from Perks too. You're right - it is just so quotable!
CoHF was definitely an emotional book haha.

  2. The City of Heavenly Fire quote made my list too! I love the HP quote too! I completely forgot about that one. Did you enjoy Panic? I'm a bit hesitant to read it because I heard mixed things about it. I love the Daughter of Smoke & Bone and The Girl of Nightmares one too.
    Lovely list. :)

    1. That's so cool that we picked the same one! The HP one is one that I always use when I get asked my favourite quote - and I've seen on a few other TTTs this week too.
I did enjoy Panic when I read it. I'm not sure what I would think now though. It was something that I wasn't expecting from Lauren Oliver after having read the Delirium books. Didn't like the characters though - they were all pretty mean!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked those quotes :)

  3. Heroes don't give up. Or maybe those that don't give up are heroes. Love your list.

  4. Your quote from The Perks of being a Wallflower is literally my favorite quote ever. It's so real and true and I love the book and I love this quote just as much. I haven't read Son yet, but I need to, also that quote is awesome. Great list :)

  6. Great choices, Sabrina! :D I didn't participate in this week's TTT because I happen to be terrible at remembering good quotes that I read xD but some of the ones you included rang some bells.

The edits you made with the quotes look awesome! I especially love the one with the CoHF quote~
I haven't read The Perks of Being a Wallflower yet, did you enjoy it?

    1. Thanks Connie!
I'm awful at it too, don't worry. I found most of these by scrolling through the quotes I've 'liked' on Goodreads. I'm glad you recognised some though ahah.
Yay! I'm happy you liked them :)
To be honest, I don't have strong feelings toward it. I liked it well enough, and I remember it making me sad. It's a quick read though, so no harm done if you read it and don't like it.
