My Little Holiday in South Australia

This is going to be a pretty different post to what I do normally, so feel free to skip it if you're only here for the books!

Recently, I was away from the internet because I went on a one-week holiday to South Australia with my family.  It was a lot of fun, and I took a lot of pictures!  This is mostly because I got a new phone with a great camera recently, so I was snap-happy.  Today I thought I might share some of the pictures with you.  I originally tried to embed them as a slideshow, but it just didn't look the way I wanted to, so I've put all the separate images out on this post.  If you're interested, keep reading!

First, here are some images of the beach that was just down the road from where we were staying.  There were quite a lot of rocks along the shore (as you can hopefully see) which made for some awesome moments.  Water would hit the rocks and splash everywhere.  Naturally, I didn't catch any of these moments on camera.
All the photos expand if you click on them.

On New Year's Eve we visited the Adelaide Zoo - home of the only two giant pandas in Australia.  I love all kinds of animals (I'm hoping to work for them one day), and I get uneasy sometimes at zoos when I see exotic animals living so far away from home, among other things.  But on this day I got to talk to some of the keepers and it was great to hear about the special things that they are doing to help these creatures all feel as comfortable as possible and how they're helping the rest of their species with conservation efforts.

Can you spot the bird?
Here are some pictures from a walk that we went on to the top of "The Bluff".  The climb was pretty challenging considering I wasn't prepared and wore sandals.  The path could be pretty uneven and slippery at times too, so it wasn't my best decision!  Anyway, the view was reward enough.

I'm a sucker for panoramic photos (trust me, I'm holding back by only posting two), so I'll finish off this post with one of a Soldier's Memorial Garden near where we were staying.  The beach is in the background behind those trees, but I realise you can't really make it out.

So that's all the photos that I managed to cut it down to!  I'll be back with some more book related posts in the near future :)

  2. I really love this post Sabrina and I'm quite jealous of you in a good way. Australia is one of the many countries I wanna visit. There is something about it that just calls to me. Might be the beautiful landscapes even though I'm scared of spiders and snakes I think I'll manage my own fears LOL
The photos were great by the way ;)

    1. Thanks Noelia! There are some very beautiful places here, but I imagine that's the same with any country. Haha I'm terrified of both spiders and snakes too. Fortunately, I can count my encounters with snakes on my fingers. Spiders... well, that's a different story.
      Lol thank you :P

I'm a sucker for panoramas too—although I can never get them quite right, I'm always shaking at some point.
It took me some time to find the bird! I looked everywhere except for where it was.
You kind of made me want to go to Australia even more!

Oh trust me, I have plenty of failed attempts - at least some of them turned out pretty funny.
Well I'm glad you found it eventually! :)
