So, May was a big buying month for me, I'm not going to lie. I bought a total of 8 books. Out of that, three of them were new releases that I had been anticipating for a long time, and had actually preordered. I'm not a person that buys books every month though, so I'm trying not to feel bad about the amount of money I spent in one hit. I probably won't get any more books until late in the year. Or if I decide to preorder Six of Crows... hmmm. Anyway, here are some pictures, and I'll talk a little about the books below.

The Bookish Identity Tag
Hi, it's been a while! I was tagged a little bit ago by the wonderful Noelia @ A Day in Bookland to do the Bookish Identity tag, so I thought I'd do that today. Also, this is my 100th post on this blog! I was originally planning to do something extra special, and you can see how well that turned out (ie. I didn't post for approximately two weeks), but stay tuned because my Blogoversary is in a month and I have shifted my plans for then...
Anyway, on to the tag!

If You Want: Mystery
Today I'm here with the second issue of my feature "If You Want". In case you missed it, here's the first issue in which I talk about some books you could try if you want to read about angels. The idea is that all the books I mention have different elements to them but still fit within one topic, so that even if you don't like one, there's a good chance you'll like one or more of the others. This issue I want to talk about books that involve mystery. Of course, that's very broad, so I hope that you will find something here that you like.

Tuesday Thoughts & Talks - The Hunger Games
Yes, I am aware that today is Wednesday - at least for me - and that I already had a Tuesday post yesterday, BUT I wanted to participate in this new meme too. It's called Tuesday Thoughts & Talks, it's hosted by Sherry @ BloggityBLOG and this is it's first week! All you have to do to participate is pick a book and talk about something it made you feel or think about. This week, I'm choosing to talk about The Hunger Games and what it made me think when I first read it and I'm a little nervous to post this! I apologise in advance if this topic upsets or offends anyone and I hope you know that that is not my intention.

Books I Will Probably Never Read - Top Ten Tuesday
This TTT (hosted by The Broke and the Bookish) is hard for me because I never really admit to myself when I have given up on reading a book. I never make that final decision not to read it. However, I have managed to pick some books that I will probably never read. Hence, I'm not committed to not reading them.

Sapient by Jerry Kaczmarowski - Excerpt and Expectations
Recently I was offered the chance to read Sapient by Jerry Kaczmarowski by Book Publicity Services. I am happy to say that I will be reading the book in the coming month. Sapient is a techno thriller that was published this April and you can get it from Amazon as either an ebook or a paperback. Today, I have the synopsis, about the author and an excerpt for you. I've also shared a few of my pre-reading thoughts at the end, so you can read them too. I think it'll be interesting to see how my expectations compare to my thoughts once I've finished the book!

April Wrap Up And May TBR
This month has been one of my better reading months for the year, with a total of seven books read. I'm also in the middle of two other books. I've found these last couple of weeks of uni to be a little overwhelming (more so than usual) but somehow - or perhaps therefore - I kept reading. The other surprising thing was that I had a range of ratings this month. Anyway, you'll see that if you keep reading!
